 Instructions: Read the poem "Flint" and answer the questions for the following poem.

 "Flint" by Christina Rosetti 
 An emerald is as green as grass;
A ruby red as blood; 
A sapphire shines as blue as heaven;
A flint lies in the mud.

 A diamond is a brilliant stone,
To catch the world's desire; 
An opal hold a fiery spark;
 But a flint holds fire.

4) What figurative language can you identify in this poem and write the verses?
5) What sensory language can you identify and write the verses?
6) What is the message of the poem?

Reading Selection: What is a blog?

We have heard many times people talk about blogs, but what is a blog? According to Darren Rowse a blog is “a type of website that is usually arranged in chronological order from the most recent ‘post’ (or entry) at the top of the main page to the older entries towards the bottom.” By having a blog anyone can update information without much trouble and easy access to anyone willing to read.
